Working to change the world

Focusing on doing enormous good can make us feel justified in neglecting small acts of goodness.

It’s very hard to know what kind of impact you’re going to have in the world. The surest way to do great good is to focus first on doing good.

Thanks to my friend Aaron for sharing this with me on Facebook.

I want to change the world, which is why I write and why I choose to write the software I do. However, I know that the world doesn’t change in drastic jumps, and I need to be aware of the context of my actions, at all times.

My personal matra is:

Think globally; act within local scope.
